Privacy notice
Just Gold Digital Agency Pty Ltd publishes Pride in Business and is responsible for the personal information collected for the publication.
Subscriptions and correspondence
When you subscribe to The Briefing or Just Gold Insights, we collect your email address to confirm your subscription and send the newsletter. Email is sent through Kit, which is based in the United States, so your email address is stored outside Australia. We do not ask you to disclose your sexual orientation or gender identity to subscribe.
When you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond, assess a correction or consider your enquiry. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for that purpose.
Research participation
Research has a separate participant information and consent process. Before an interview or survey, we explain what we intend to collect, why it is needed, who will have access and how the findings will be published. Participation does not automatically subscribe you to The Briefing.
Identification, quotations, recording and any sharing with reviewers are addressed in that consent process. Removing a name may not be enough to protect someone’s identity, particularly in a small business community, so we also consider whether details in an account could identify them.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe using the link in any email. To ask about information held about you, request access or correction, raise a privacy concern or request deletion, email [email protected] with “Privacy” in the subject line, or write to Just Gold, 3 Albert Coates Lane, Melbourne VIC 3000. We will explain any legal or practical limits that apply to a request.
Just Gold’s wider privacy policy also applies.
Advisory board expressions of interest
When you express interest in joining the LGBTIQA+ Advisory Board, Just Gold collects your name, contact details, where you are based, the position you are seeking, your statement, your CV and any links or documents you provide. If you choose to answer the optional questions, we also collect whether you identify as LGBTIQA+, trans or gender diverse, Autistic or neurodivergent, a person with disability, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, or from a culturally or linguistically diverse background, and any adjustments you ask for. Information about sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin and health is sensitive information under the Privacy Act, and we treat gender identity with the same care. We collect it only with your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the form.
We use this information only to assess your expression of interest, to contact you about it and, in a form that does not identify you, to check whether the board reflects the communities it serves. It is seen only by the people assessing expressions of interest, it is never published, and the optional answers do not affect your eligibility. If you do not give us the required information, we cannot assess your expression of interest.
Until our online form is connected, your expression of interest reaches us as an email you send from your own email account to [email protected]. Just Gold’s email and files are held in Microsoft 365, which may store or process information outside Australia. We keep expressions of interest only for as long as we need them to run this recruitment and the board’s first term, and then delete them, unless you ask us to keep yours for future vacancies.
You can ask to see or correct your information, or withdraw your expression of interest, at any time by emailing [email protected] with “Privacy” in the subject line. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
